To meet the growing demand for high-quality extrusion billets, Nanshan Aluminum commissioned a fully automated billet conditioning line capable of processing both solid and hollow aluminum cast billets.
The installation removes casting surface defects and restores billet geometry before downstream processing, ensuring consistent material quality for high-performance aluminum products. By combining billet centering, external peeling and internal boring operations within a single automated system, the line significantly improves machining accuracy and production efficiency while reducing manual handling requirements.
Designed for billet diameters from Ø254 mm to Ø520 mm, the project demonstrates Maxton's capability in advanced billet conditioning solutions for modern aluminum production facilities.
This installation was developed to improve billet quality before downstream extrusion and machining processes. By integrating surface conditioning and internal boring operations into a single automated line, the system helps ensure consistent billet geometry, improved material utilization and reliable preparation of high-value aluminum products.
