This project involved the design, manufacturing and commissioning of a horizontal high-speed band saw line for aluminum billet, slab and plate processing. The system was supplied to the Luoyang Institute of Special Materials Research of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and has been successfully operating since 2017.
The production line is designed to process aluminum workpieces ranging from Ø90 mm to Ø700 mm with lengths up to 7,000 mm. The solution integrates material loading, servo-controlled positioning, automatic feeding, precision sawing and material discharge into a complete cutting system, providing efficient and reliable operation for research and industrial production applications.
To ensure high cutting performance and process stability, the equipment incorporates advanced motion control technology, laser-assisted positioning, intelligent PLC control and optimized mechanical design. The automated operation reduces manual intervention while improving production efficiency, dimensional consistency and material utilization.
With its robust construction, stable process performance and long-term operational reliability, the system continues to support demanding aluminum processing requirements and serves as an important reference project in the non-ferrous metal industry.
Engineered for demanding aluminum processing applications, the system combines robust mechanical construction with advanced automation technologies. Servo positioning, intelligent control and optimized machine design work together to deliver stable cutting performance, improved efficiency and reliable long-term operation.
